St Joseph's provides a range of co curricular opportunities for students.

We are excited to offer a guitar group under the guidance of Ricky Kradolfer every week.  These small group classes are offered from Kindergarten to Year 6!  Even the staff are involved in after school classes.

The children enjoy the chess club and participate in local competitions when available.

We host many Lakes Regional competitions in our St Joseph's school hall including Regional debating competition, Regional Maths/Spelling Competition and Regional Public Speaking competition throughout the year.

Students are encouraged to enter the ASPIRE songwriting competition each year, guided by our Music teacher Mrs Lisa Pockran. Mrs Pockran also leads our very successful choir, who won the Abermain eisteddfod in 2018 with a scintillating rendition of "The Greatest Show". Talented students have auditioned for parts in the ASPIRE Musical securing support cast roles in this amazing experience.

In 2021 and 2022 our Stage 2 students were finalists in the ASPIRE song writing competition.

In 2019, our Year 6 students were shortlisted in the ASPIRE song writing competition.

In 2018, Year 5 students participated in a new recycling initiative; recycling old T-shirts by finger knitting them into cushions for Kindergarten. A local community group partnered the students, teaching them the method for recycling. It is expected that this hands on recycling experience will continue in 2019.

St Joseph's has a Garden Club "Joey's Diggers", who plant, weed and prune plants to beautify our playground.

Our librarian, Mrs Hannan, offers Coding Club at lunch times providing opportunities for students to expand their knowledge of computer programming leading into the STEM program at school.  Many students take part in the Premier Reading Challenge with a pizza party to celebrate their achievements and appreciation of books.

Our Learning Support team offer 'Lunch Club,' a quiet place for students who don't wish to join the playground activities.

We are proud of our chess club and our Mini Vinnies who support our school community in various ways throughout the year.

Our Pastoral Care Worker offers art classes and meditation/social skills groups to enhance children's learning.
